WE NEED YOUR HELP
EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS
We purchase food also. We buy onions and potatotes weekly. We purchase all our seasonings. We buy soup base, gravy mix, salad dressing, milk, coffee, tea, creamer, sugar, and other basic food-related items.
Last year we spent over $10,000 on food purchases. It takes a lot to produce over 60,000 meals every year.
We buy new pots, pants, can openers, utensils, etc, as ours need replacing.
We buy a new washer or dryer every few years when our equipment eventually wears out from the strain of 30+ loads every week, 1,500+ loads per year.
We provide the water, soap, and shampoo for client showers.
Although much of our food comes from supermarkets, bakeries, and other stores who need to dispose of merchandise that is still good but has an expired "sell-by" date, without donations from individuals and groups, we would often run short.
Recently, we lost a significant source of meat and produce with the store closings announced by SweetBay. That makes small donations of food even more critical to filling the gap.
Our 100+ volunters don't receive any compensation, but we still have many expenses.
